Luis Beltran Lacouture of Medellin graduates from Lake Forest College

Luis Beltran Lacouture of Medellin, Colombia , graduated cum laude from Lake Forest College with a bachelor of arts degree in Biology and Environmental Studies. Beltran was awarded the David W. Towle Award for Excellence in Biological Research and the Grace Elizabeth Groner Foundation Internation Service Award. His senior thesis, "Post-Dispersal Seed Fate of Ocotea floribunda (Lauraceae) in Monteverde, Costa Rica" was awarded distinction.

Beltran Lacouture was among more than 350 students to graduate from Lake Forest College at Ravinia Festival Park on May 9, 2015. Roberto Salem, the Class of 2015's senior class speaker, delivered an inspiring message to his fellow graduates. You can read his address online here.
