Lauren Mandell Wins Lake Forest College Off-Campus Study Essay Contest

Lake Forest College student Lauren Mandell `12, of Prospect Heights, Illinois, is the winner of the Spring 2011 Off-Campus Study Essay Contest. She spent last spring on the Washington Semester Program, working in the office of Congresswoman Gabrille Giffords. All students who study on an approved off-campus program write reflections upon their return describing the students' activities during their time away and, more importantly, how those experiences changed their perspective and what they learned about a new environment and about themselves. These essays are automatically entered into the contest. which is then judged by Lake Forest College faculty and staff.
