Jimena Resendiz Selected as Groner Grant Recipient at Lake Forest College

Jimena Resendiz '13, of Vernon Hills, Illinois, was selected to receive a grant from the Grace Elizabeth Groner Foundation at Lake Forest College for their work at James Madison's Montpelier during the fall 2012 semester. Resendiz is doing a remote internship from Illinois. Jimena's role as an Web Designer for Montpelier is to update and edit all of the findings, research, content, and images for the Archaeology Department. The new Montpelier website was just launched a few weeks ago.

Lake Forest College was the recipient in early 2010 of a $7 million gift from alumna Grace Groner '31, who made international news for how she initially made her millions: through smart investing and frugal living. The Groner grant program funds select service projects for Lake Forest College students. The first Groner scholars were named in fall 2010.

Resendiz is a graduate of Vernon Hills High School in Vernon Hills, Illinois.
