Craig da Silva Receives Award From Lake Forest College

Lake Forest College hosts its annual Leadership Awards ceremony every spring, where it recognizes outstanding student achievements.

Craig da Silva '16, of Bangalore, India, received the Make a Difference Award, sponsored by Target Corporation this year. The award is presented to an individual or organization which has demonstrated a strong commitment to helping others and to community service. Craig's philosophy of "in the giving one receives the bountiful" is evident in his long standing commitment to make a difference. His previous involvement ranges from helping in animal shelters to advocating for child rights and assisting those with mental and physical disabilities. This year he serves as a regular volunteer at South Elementary School in North Chicago. Craig is also active with Habitat for Humanity, having volunteered the summer prior to his arrival at Lake Forest and also during Spring Break on the Habitat trip to Minnesota.
