Charlie Toth volunteers for Lake Forest College Day of Service

2014 Mar 14

Charlie Toth ’14, of Arlington, VA, was one of nearly 400 Lake Forest College students who participated in the College's annual Forester Day of Service. Toth is a graduate of H B Woodlawn in Arlington, VA.

Each year, the College's Gates Center for Leadership and Personal Growth organizes a campus-wide day of service where Lake Forest College students, faculty, staff, and alumni volunteer their Saturday to help out the community.

This year, volunteer sites were set up at five elementary schools in North Chicago. We're continuing our partnership with North Chicago Community Partners and the Northern Illinois Food Bank in addressing the connection between hunger and academic achievement. At each site students also facilitated a Health and Wellness Open House. Northern Illinois Food Bank provided more than 5,000 pounds of food that Foresters unpacked and organized.
